I can't believe that December is fast disappearing and that Christmas is just round the corner. I've not had a
chance to write any cards or do my Christmas shopping.
December has been crazy busy. I've hardly had a chance to breathe. My next free day is Boxing
Day!
Bishop Thomas McMahon, Emeritus Bishop of Brentwood, died at the end of November. I was honoured to be asked
to live-stream a memorial Mass from his beloved church in Stock where he was Parish Priest from 1969 until his death. He was Bishop of Brentwood between 1980 and 2014. These dates make him not only
the longest serving Parish Priest in England, but also the longest serving Bishop. His funeral took place at Brentwood Cathedral. I was privileged to be a part of the team that live-streamed this
Requiem Mass, at which Cardinal Vincent Nichols presided. There is a link to the Mass on the Bishop Thomas Stock page on this site.
I have bought myself a post-mid-life-crisis sports car! It's a bright yellow 2003 Mercedes SLK. I bought it
from Sam at SPR Autos in Stockport...check out their YouTube channel and you'll see some videos of the yellow peril as they work on it. Mechanically she's sorted, but there are some bits of rust,
dents etc that I'll get done over the next 6-9 months ready for next Summer. I think a road trip will be in order.
That's about it for now, I think. Keep well and safe, and I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful
New Year.
